Our team is committed to providing excellent pregnancy care.

Expandable List

For most pregnancies, patients are seen at the following times:

  • Between your positive pregnancy test and 28 weeks, you will be seen every four weeks
  • Between 28 weeks and 36 weeks, you will be seen every 2 weeks
  • After 36 weeks, you will be seen every week until you deliver

There is always a team member available to you 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

You can reach us, any time of the day, by calling our phone number (905) 528-5553.

For after-clinic hours, an answering service will connect you directly with the doctor on call.

If you have not felt your baby move, have broken your water, have painful frequent contractions or vaginal bleeding like a period, go directly to the Labour and Delivery Unit at St Joseph’s Hospital to be assessed by a member of our team.

The Program for Substance Use in Pregnancy (PROSPR) at the Maternity Centre of Hamilton is an integrated prenatal and substance use care program for pregnant people with substance use disorders. We provide a one-stop model where individuals can receive:

  • prenatal care
  • substance use care, including methadone or suboxone
  • mental health support
  • social work
  • linkages to primary care

Walk-in hours are available every Wednesday from 1p.m. to 4 p.m. or contact us at (905) 528-5553.

Self-referrals are accepted by phone or in-person. Healthcare providers may refer by fax: 905-528-9178 (please include prenatal investigations and obstetrical history if available).
